How it works

Compute the floor area, divide it by the area of one tile (converted to m²), then add a waste percentage for cutting, breakage and future repairs.

Worked example

A 5 m × 4 m floor (20 m²) with 60×60 cm tiles = 0.36 m² each. 20 ÷ 0.36 = 56 tiles, +10% waste ≈ 61 tiles.

Recommendations

  • Add 10% waste for straight layouts, 15% for diagonal
  • Keep a few spare tiles for future repairs
  • Check the batch number — shades vary between batches

Tips & advice

  • Dry-lay a few rows first to adjust pattern
  • Start from the center of the room, not a wall
  • Use spacers for consistent grout lines
